George R.R. Martin ‘Big Fan’ of House of Dragon Actor: ‘Better Than Fire and Blood’ | books | entertainment

House of the Dragon is halfway there now, with co-stars Millie Alcock and Emily Carey replaced in the roles of Princess Rhinera Targaryen and Queen Aliscent Hightower from Emma Darcy and Olivia Cook. The creator of Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin, enjoyed watching the show, and was especially happy that it matched its primary source.

Martin previously shared on his blog: “HOUSE OF THE DRAGON? Glad you asked. I’ve now watched the premiere excerpts for nine out of the 10 episodes, and I’m still a fan. I can’t speak to the sound effects, many of which haven’t gone in yet, but her looks are great, the acting and the directing And the writing is top notch. And yes, for all book lovers, this is my story. Sure, there are some changes from FIRE & BLOOD – we couldn’t make three alternate versions for every big event, no and keep our sanity – but I think Ryan Condal and his writers took Good options. Even some improvements. (Head, I know, but being the author, I’m allowed to say that).”

After that, the author of A Song of Ice and Fire went on to acknowledge the House of the Dragon actor who he feels is superior even to his work on Fire and Blood.

It seems unlikely that Paddy’s King Viserys will last longer than the first season of House of the Dragon, given that his death sparked an accession crisis and a civil war between his children known as the Dance of Dragons.

Regardless, Martin’s view on the actor was discovered in a popular Reddit post by YorkeZimmer. The fan commented, “I found this today and thought others might find it interesting. I’ve been having a hard time crafting what I love so much in Paddy Considine Viserys, but GRRM calls it ‘tragic majesty’.” He’s on the page and really lifted him up.”
